15 Days of Green Tips for 15 years of Keep Carroll Beautiful

Day 14 – Kid-friendly activities

This post is a part of the “15 Days of Green Tips for 15 years of Keep Carroll Beautiful” Virtual Birthday Celebration. Every day between April 8 and April 22, a member of KCB Board, Staff, or the public, will share their favorite tips on how to Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle!

Meet Christina Davis and her cute daughters – Ona (5) and Gillian (3). They love nature and dress up so today they are combining both with a flower-painting party!

Nature-crafts!

You do not need much to paint-with-nature – gather leaves and flowers, grab a canvas (a sheet of paper, cereal box, or a white paper plate), get the school glue out and start creating!

Also – check out the awesome painted-leaf-mobile created by the McKilligan Family for our 15 Day series: https://www.keepcarrollbeautiful.org/painted-leaf-mobile/

Outdoor creatures

Christina and her daughters love spending time in their garden and sometimes they find little creatures – like caterpillars, that the girls can watch! With a small pop-up habitat (or an upcycled laundry basket…) and the right food, kids can watch caterpillars transform into butterflies! Even with the tiniest outdoor space, you can help your kids plant a pollinator garden and attract butterflies, bees, and birds!
