Annual Reporting

Keep Carroll Beautiful, Inc. holds the IRS 501(c)3 non-profit status and is designated as a Public Charity in the Publication 78 database. KCB is also a registered charity with the State of Georgia. This means that Keep Carroll Beautiful can solicit and receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.

IRS 501(c)3 Non-Profit Status

Organizations organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, educational, or other specified purposes and that meet certain other requirements are tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).

Annual Reporting – IRS Form 990

Generally, tax-exempt organizations must file an annual information return (Form 990 or Form 990-EZ). Most small tax-exempt organizations whose annual gross receipts are normally $50,000 or less can satisfy their annual reporting requirement by electronically submitting Form 990-N if they choose not to file Form 990 or Form 990-EZ. Churches, some church-affiliated organizations and certain other types of organizations are excepted from filing.

The Georgia Charitable Solicitations Act of 1988 regulates the solicitation and collection of charitable contributions. Standards for Excellence® Accreditation

In June 2022, Keep Carroll Beautiful was recognized by the Standards for Excellence Institute® for completing a voluntary, peer-reviewed program for organizations that follow nonprofit ethics and accountability best practices.

The Standards for Excellence® originated as a special initiative of Maryland Nonprofits in 1998 and has since expanded into a national program to help nonprofit organizations achieve the highest benchmarks of ethics and accountability in nonprofit governance, management, and operations. Ten state, regional, and national affiliate organizations have formally adopted the program. It is supported by nearly 80 Licensed Consultants and over 100 volunteers with professional experience in nonprofit governance and administration. Since its inception, the program has accredited or recognized over 200 individual nonprofit organizations that completed a rigorous application and review process to demonstrate adherence to the Standards for Excellence®: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector.

Keep Carroll Beautiful is working toward fulfilling our mission to engage the citizens of Carroll County in taking responsibility for improving our community’s environment. Our main focus areas are litter prevention, recycling, and beautification, all supplemented by educational outreach and campaigns in these fields.
