Carroll County Convenience Centers

The Carroll County Board of Commissioners operates 10 convenience centers strategically located throughout the county. The centers accept recyclables (cardboard, mixed metals, aluminum, and glass), household garbage, and furniture. There is no charge for this service to Carroll County residents. You do not need to reside in a specific community to use a nearby center.

Convenience Centers do not accept:

  • Carpets, building materials, lumber. Take construction debris to Carroll County Transfer Station. Dimensional lumber like 2x4s or pallets need to be under 4 feet long. Fees apply.
  • Hazardous materials and liquid waste. Check Household Hazardous Waste Amnesty Event for disposal options.
  • Tires – take them to Carroll County Transfer Station. Fees apply. Metal wheels with no tires can be placed in mixed metal recycling bin.
  • Batteries. Check our guide on battery disposal.
  • Shrubs, trees, limbs, or any other landscape material. Take yard debris to Carroll County Transfer Station. Fees apply.
  • Commercial disposal.

Accepted Materials

  • Household garbage and furniture (including mattresses) can be dropped off at any convenience center. The convenience centers only accept 1-2 pieces of furniture at a time. Largen quantities should be taken to the Carroll County Transfer Station.
  • Mixed Metal is accepted in most locations (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) with the exception of Simonton Mill Center (6).
  • Aluminum Cans are accepted as a separate material only at Newnan Road (6) location. Cans can be placed in the mixed metal bin at all other locations.
  • All other aluminum products, including trays and foil, can be placed in the mixed metal bin.
  • Cardboard – Accepted only at Newnan Road (6). Coming soon: Dyer Road (8) and Temple (10) locations.
  • Glass (only bottles and jars), – No mirrors, window panes, construction glass, tempered glass, porcelain or milky or glass dishware are allowed. Glass is accepted only at Newnan Road (6), Dyer Road (8) and Temple (10) locations.
